Before founding Stayawhile, Janine spent her career financing and building edgy hospitality brands for Andre Balazs (of the Standard Hotels, Chiltern Firehouse and Chateau Marmont) and at NorthStar Capital, the financial sponsor behind Morgans Hotel Group. Over her career, she has managed over $1 billion in private equity investments, from origination to exit/IPO. She graduated from Yale University.
Brett is an experienced programmer, analyst, and automator. Previously, he was co-founder and systems architect for an advertising technology firm and managed multi-currency risk analytics at BlackRock. He graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Before joining Stayawhile, Gita worked as a real estate attorney at Shearman & Sterling and Bryan Cave. She obtained a certificate from the New York School of Interior Design, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
Before joining the founding team of Stayawhile, Najla worked for small, luxury beauty businesses where she handled all strategic planning and direction, daily operations and data management. While overseeing operational duties, she also managed the marketing responsibilities, helping to stream-line all new business outreach and re-engage former customers. She graduated from New York University.
Jear is a full-stack engineer. She grew up working for her family-owned business and was involved in business operations and marketing until she found a passion for programming. She has managed and taught other students how to program. She graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South.
Kostas has led business development and operations teams in the travel & tourism industry, first at the world’s leading tour operator, TUI Group, and then at Tourboks, a startup marketplace for tours, where he increased corporate customers by 30x.
TJ is a serial entrepreneur. TJ previously co-founded a 3D e-commerce company and worked with several real estate start-ups focused on flexible housing. At these companies, he oversaw business development and sales. He is a licensed real estate broker in both New York and Florida and graduated from Bates College.
Alberto is a designer, front-end developer and illustrator from Puerto Rico and has designed applications for Alice and ArtBinder. He is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts.
Eli is a writer, marketer, and web developer. He previously worked in marketing and operations for several small startups, and did extensive research on early adopters of Bitcoin in Argentina and the informal economy in Rio de Janeiro. He graduated from Fullstack Academy's Software Engineering Immersive program and holds a B.A. from Northwestern University.
Marie holds a Masters in Management from Boston University. She has held several roles that make her an ideal first point of customer contact including captain of the cheerleading squad and recruitment director of the Kappa Alpha Theta chapter at Boston University.
Marco is an interior designer. He graduated from Yale University and from medical school at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a board certified radiation oncologist. When he's not practicing oncology, he enjoys creating art and decorating other people's homes.
Simone is our resident customer service savant. She was conceived on a Japanese factory floor, spent her early years on the Russian chess circuit, and ultimately shipped to New York City. Her unique background has given her exceptional cultural sensitivity and tremendous compassion for fellow man and machine. When she isn’t clocking 24 hour days at the office, she enjoys open-water swimming, hot yoga and medieval cosplay.
Shaun is an entrepreneurial accountant, which makes him one of a very rare breed. He has worked in revenue management and dynamic pricing at JetBlue and at Boeing. He graduated with a M.S. in accounting and real estate management from Bentley University.
Sammy is a real estate developer with holdings across Latin America. He also co-produced the film Hands of Stone with Robert DeNiro. He holds a B.S and an M.S. in civil engineering and a Masters in Real Estate from Columbia University.
